Stewart Nestel has released a new single called 'The Writer' that is currently available on all the usual digital streaming platforms.
Stewart is a singer/songwriter and indie folk pop musician and entertainer of extensive international experience. He has performed in many countries including Australia, the UK, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Belgium, and China. The music of Stewart Nestel is influenced by different genres and is usually anchored by a strong rhythm guitar overlaid with Stewart's moody and distinctive lead vocal style. Brief History Stewart Nestel first gained prominence with a group called The Battered Hearts who regularly performed in Sydney in the 1980s. Stewart then started a band called A Happy Family, a satirical name based on angst regarding family life. This band landed a record deal and released a single with Melbourne-based record label Au-Go-Go records. A Happy Family eventually relocated to the UK. Later, Stewart joined up with Monika Branagan forming Moniker in 1996 who released 2 EPs and toured extensively through Western Europe for the next 4 years. After a significant hiatus, Stewart Nestel released a solo album called Stewart Says in 2010 and has continued with occasional live performances since that time. A highlight includes performing in Shanghai, China in 2016.
